Designing a dental CRM for faster patient, lab, and invoicing workflows
Aligneurs Français is a web and mobile dental CRM that helps dentists and lab technicians manage patients, treatment records, clinical photos, communication, and invoicing within one connected system.
I led the redesign around the day-to-day needs of dental teams, simplifying the workflows that were slowing clinics down and making collaboration with the laboratory easier to manage.
PROJECT DETAILS
Role: Product Design Lead
Platforms: Web and Mobile Applications
Scope: Branding, website design and development, UX design, UI design and development collaboration
Users: Dentists, clinic teams and dental laboratory staff
The challenge
The original system had become difficult to use and required dental teams to rely on several disconnected tools. Routine tasks took too long, and communication between clinics and the laboratory was difficult to track.
Slow clinical photo uploads
Dentists had to move between different devices to capture, transfer, and upload patient photographs.
Manual invoice management
Invoices required manual work, with limited visibility into payment status, reminders, or outstanding balances.
Fragmented lab communication
Email was the primary communication channel, making patient-specific conversations, attachments, and delivery updates difficult to organise.
Disconnected clinic workflows
Patient information, clinical images, invoices, and laboratory communication were handled through separate steps and tools, making everyday work slower and harder to track.
The solution
I redesigned the experience around the way clinics and laboratories actually work. The new mobile and web workflows bring patient management, photographs, invoices, and communication into one coordinated product.
Mobile patient and photo management
Dentists can add patients and capture or upload clinical photographs directly from the mobile application.
Automated invoicing workflows
The product generates invoices, supports payment reminders, and lets teams filter records by paid and unpaid status.
Patient-specific communication
Built-in conversations keep messages, attachments, and delivery updates connected to the correct patient record.
Connected web and mobile experiences
Information entered through the mobile application remains synchronised with the existing web platform, allowing teams to work from the most appropriate device.
The outcome
The redesigned CRM reduced manual work and made essential clinic-to-lab workflows faster, clearer, and easier to track.
40% faster task completion for dentists.
Clinical photo uploads reduced by several minutes.
Communication with the laboratory became immediate and traceable.
Invoice creation and payment tracking became easier to manage.
