Dental CRM - Case Study
Aligneurs Francais - Paris, France
Overview
Aligneurs Francais Dental CRM is a web and mobile platform designed to help dentists and lab technicians manage patient care, communication, and invoicing — all in one place. The product needed a refresh that made it simpler, faster, and more user-friendly. I led the redesign with a focus on user experience, making sure the interface truly worked for real-world dental teams.

Target Audience
Dentists (Web App & Mobile App)
Professionals across France managing dozens of patients per week. They wanted a tool that was fast, mobile-friendly, and easy to use.
Lab Technicians (Web App)
Production team members managing aligner creation and delivery. They needed better context and real-time updates from dentists.
Research & Insight
I conducted a user feedback survey with 30 dentists to understand their pain points and priorities.
Key findings
– Dentists wanted to spend less time on admin and more on patient care.
- The most-used features were photo uploads, treatment tracking, and messaging.
- Users needed a smoother mobile experience with fewer clicks.
Problems
The original system had become difficult to use and slowed down the day-to-day work of dental clinics. Dentists were spending too much time on manual tasks, and communication with the dental lab was messy and slow.
Here’s what I discovered
- Photo uploads were time-consuming and required multiple devices.
- Email was the only way to contact the lab, which caused delays and confusion.
- Invoicing had to be done manually with no reminders or tracking.
The team needed a clean, modern solution that would simplify everyday workflows.
Solutions
1. Mobile Photo Uploads
Old process:
Add patient on web → take photos on phone → transfer to laptop → upload manually.
New flow:
Add patient and take/upload photos directly in-app — saving minutes per patient.
2. Real-Time Messaging
Old process:
Conversations via email, hard to track or search.
New flow:
Patient-specific chat inside the app with attachments and delivery updates.
3. Automated Invoicing
Old process:
Manually create, send, and track invoices.
New flow:
Auto-generated invoices with reminders and filters for paid/unpaid.
Design Highlights
- A calm and clean dashboard that surfaces only what matters for the day.
- Reorganized patient profiles with timelines, notes, and easy access to all media.
- Chat threads tied to patients, keeping lab communication organized and fast.
- Payment tracking and reminders built right in.

What I Learned
This project reminded me that simple tools can be powerful when designed well. By focusing on real user needs and trimming complexity, I turned a clunky admin platform into something clinics actually wanted to use every day.
